Data Center Engineer

PearlFibers runs its own infrastructure — the servers, network and power behind our hosting, business email, managed DNS and the products we operate. As a Data Center Engineer you keep it running. This is a hands-on, on-site role for someone who treats uptime as a personal responsibility.

What you'll do

• Install, configure and maintain physical servers, racks, networking and power.
• Administer Linux servers — provisioning, patching, hardening and backups.
• Own monitoring and alerting, and respond calmly and methodically to incidents.
• Maintain structured cabling, cooling and power continuity (UPS/generator handover).
• Document what you run so the next person — including future you — can follow it.

What we're looking for

• Solid Linux server administration and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VLANs).
• Hands-on experience with racks, power, cooling and structured cabling.
• A methodical, documentation-first approach and a calm head under pressure.
• Willingness to be on-site in Baghdad and part of a support rotation.
• Working proficiency in Arabic and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with virtualization, containers or storage systems.
• Scripting for automation (Bash, Python).
